UM thunders past Toledo to advance in WNIT

Freshman Katelynn Flaherty (26) and Siera Thompson (20) combined for 46 points as Michigan trounced Toledo, 74-58, Monday in the Women's National Invitational Tournament at Savage Arena.

UM (17-14) advances to the third round to play Missouri (19-13) at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Crisler Center.

Against Toledo, UM used a 16-0 run late in the first half to gain control. Flaherty was 11-of-15 from the floor, including 2-of-3 on 3-pointers while Thompson was 6-of-8 and 4-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Cyesha Goree added 13 points while Nicole Elmblad hauled in 14 rebounds.

Inma Zanoguera scored 14 while Ana Capotosto had 12 and Brenae Harris 11 for Toledo (19-14).
