Michigan women beat Missouri, advance in WNIT

Shannon Smith led five players in double figures with 13 points Thursday night and Michigan advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women's National Invitation Tournament with a 65-55 victory over visiting Missouri.

Cyesha Goree had 12 points and 14 rebounds, Nicole Elmblad scored 11, and Siera Thompson and Katelynn Flannery had 10 apiece for the Wolverines (19-14), who face Southern Mississippi at a date and site to be determined.
