QB KJ Costello picks Stanford over Michigan

The Detroit News

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has made it clear he's interested in stockpiling quarterbacks, but he will not have a chance to work with standout junior quarterback KJ Costello. Costello, of Santa Margarita, Calif., announced Thursday he has committed to Stanford.

There were three hats on the table -- Stanford, USC and Michigan, when Costello revealed his choice during an announcement at Santa Margarita.

The 6-foot-5 Costello threw for 3,123 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior. He is rated a four-star prospect and the No. 3 quarterback in the nation for 2016 by Scout.com.
