Michigan football will no longer host the popular Women's Football Academy or the Michigan Men's Football Experience, according to a release from the University of Michigan Health System on Monday.

Both events were fundraisers for the Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, with the men's academy raising money for prostate cancer research and the women's for patient and family support services.

According to the release, new coach Jim Harbaugh "needs to stay focused on getting the team in shape," hence the decision to discontinue the two events.

Michigan athletics plans to maintain its partnership with the cancer center and is expected to hold events in conjunction with the center around the 2016 spring football game.
