Carter Dunaway, a tight end from Brother Rice, is the first commitment to Michigan's 2017 class, according to a report Friday night from Scout.com's Allen Trieu, a Detroit News contributor.
Dunaway, whose father, Craig, played tight end for the Wolverines (1980-1982), was offered a scholarship by coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff during the spring game weekend April 4. Dunaway is 6-foot-6, 225 pounds.
His brother, Jack, will be a preferred walk-on this fall. Jack Dunaway is a defensive end.
"I can't wait to be a Wolverine and follow in my brother and dad's footsteps," Carter Dunaway told GoBlueWolverine.com
