Three-star safety Devin Gil picks Michigan
Michigan now has 17 commitments to the 2016 football class after three-star safety Devin Gil announced on Twitter Friday that he will be attending Michigan. The 6-foot, 204-pounder from Pembroke Pines, Fla., will join his teammate Josh Metellus, a two-star safety who committed to Michigan on Wednesday.
Gil took part in Michigan's satellite camp appearance in south Florida earlier this month during Jim Harbaugh and staff's "Swarm Tour Tour."
Gil is ranked the No. 11 safety is Florida and the No. 93 safety nationally in the 2016 class by Scout.com.
Michigan defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, the former DC at Florida, played a key role in Gil's recruitment.
"He's a great coach, on and off the field," Gil told Scout.com. "When we went up to Michigan I saw how much he cares for his family, his football family and his family in the house so I know when I go up there he's going to treat me just like one of them, just like he does now."
