Michigan basketball had been on an emotional high this spring. Star guard Caris LeVert said in April he was returning for his senior season rather than entering the NBA draft.
That was followed on May 11 with the surprise announcement by Gladstone (N.J.) Gill St. Bernard's five-star shooting guard Tyus Battle that he had picked Michigan over Duke, Louisville and others.
But Battle's journey to Ann Arbor took a detour on Friday when Evan Daniels of Scout.com reported that Battle had re-opened his recruiting and would take an official vist to Syracuse.
Battle, a 6-6, 195-pounder, is ranked among the top 10 players nationall by Scout and other recruiting services.
