Michigan didn't take long to move beyond losing its most coveted recruit for 2016.

The Wolverines got a verbal commitment from Ibi Watson, a wing from Pickerington Central in Ohio — the same school that produced current UM senior Caris LeVert.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 170 pounds, Watson could fill the void left by five-star wing Tyus Battle, who committed to Syracuse after initially pledging to Michigan.

Watson is rated as a three-star prospect, but his stock has risen dramatically after an outstanding AAU season with his All-Ohio Red squad.

Watson also had interest from Indiana, Iowa and Xavier, among others.
