Cornerback Antwaine Richardson, who was the 11th commitment in Michigan's 2016 recruiting class, will miss his entire senior season of high school football at Delray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic.

ESPN West Palm 106.3 says Richardson suffered a torn ACL during Atlantic High's spring game in May. He had surgery in July and expects to be fully recovered by December.

"It felt really bad (knowing he would miss his senior season), but at the same time you can't go back in time, so I had to accept I was injured and cannot play," he told ESPN West Palm 106.3. "Some people might dwell on it, but you can't do that."

Richardson (6-0, 165 pounds) said he informed Michigan's coaches of the injury before he committed, on June 12.

"They said, 'We'd still love to have you up here. Just rehab real good so you can get back to normal and start cutting the same.'

"To me it felt good. That meant they really wanted me. Some schools would back off after they found out you tore your ACL, but they still wanted me."
