Say what? Utah a 'cupcake' foe for Michigan?

Utah's Kenneth Scott, pictured making a catch against Michigan last season, said, "Our team is always juiced no matter what."

Popular mechanics might know about car engines, computers and drones, but they don't know football.

A monthly calendar published in the magazine included this nugget for next Thursday, Sept. 3: "College football season gets underway tonight with the University of Michigan in a cupcake game against Utah."

Of course, Utah is not only not a cupcake, the Utes beat Michigan last season and they are favored in this year's game by 5-6 points by Las Vegas Sportsbooks.

Not surprisingly, the Popular Mechanics calendar is hanging in the Utah locker room.

The Utes were 9-4 last season with wins over UCLA, USC and Stanford, in addition to the 26-10 triumph over the Wolverines in the Big House.

Utah senior wide receiver Kenneth Scott was asked about the calendar and told Fox 13 in Salt Lake City: "Our team is always juiced no matter what. So, with that little thing that they put in our locker room about us being a cupcake game it definitely puts more intensity into the game, just because of that little statement that was made. And plus we're always trying to prove everybody wrong, because everyone sees us as the underdog, so we always have the chip on our shoulder."
