UNLV coach Tony Sanchez said he will give his players an opportunity to take in Michigan Stadium on Friday so they can get a feel for the size before Saturday’s game.

The Rebels’ home stadium, Sam Boyd Stadium, has a capacity of 36,800, while Michigan Stadium’s capacity is 107,601. The announced attendance for the home opener last Saturday was 109,651.

“We’ll go to a local high school and get our hour practice in and then we’ll go to the Big House and let them take out their phones and take pictures and kind of enjoy the environment,” Sanchez said this week on his coach’s show, “RebZone Sports Show.” “And then (we’ll) put that to bed so game day you get out there, obviously there will be a lot of people in the seats and it will be a little louder, but getting in that environment and getting comfortable will make a big difference.”

Sanchez said the team will arrive in Ann Arbor on Thursday. Kickoff is at noon, which is 9 a.m. in Las Vegas. He said that’s not a concern.

“At 9 o’clock Tuesday through Thursday we’re halfway through practice, so I don’t think that will affect us,” Sanchez said.
