Ann Arbor — Ohio State, the reigning national champion, and Michigan State are ranked 1-2 in the latest national poll.
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has noticed.
“Deservedly so,” Harbaugh said Monday. “Both those teams have played well and won big games. Three weeks in, (and they’re) one and two. Right where they should be.”
Receiver Jehu Chesson sounded nothing but positive about the Wolverines’ two rivals that have dominated their respective series. Michigan State has won six of the last seven against Michigan, while Ohio State has won 10 of the last 11.
“It’s great to see them win. I don’t wish any negativity on any team,” Chesson said. “They have good things going down at Ohio and they have good things going up at East Lansing, and I just wish them continued success because we don’t play them for a few weeks. When it is State week and Ohio week, we have different things on our hands.”
Former Michigan coach Brady Hoke always referred to Ohio State as “Ohio”. Chesson continues to adhere to that.
“Nothing’s changed,” Chesson said.
