Michigan basketball expects a lot of wins on the court this year.

On Friday, it received a big triumph off the court when four-star shooting guard Jordan Poole became the first commitment for coach John Beilein’s 2017 class.

Poole made the announcement at his high school, Milwaukee Rufus King.

Poole considered offers from 11 schools, including Connecticut, Kansas and Wisconsin.

The decision comes after Poole made a visit to UM on Oct. 17 for the football team’s game against Michigan State. Poole also visited Sept. 26, according to 247sports.com.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder is ranked the No. 3 player in Wisconsin, the No. 21 shooting guard nationally and the No. 92 player nationally, per 247sports.com.
