Ann Arbor — Tyrone Wheatley Jr., Michigan’s freshman tight end and son of the running backs coach, has been out with an undisclosed injury but took part in pregame warm-ups two weeks ago.

Jay Harbaugh said he simply wants to see improvement from Wheatley.

“That’s really all I’m looking for,” said Harbaugh, Michigan's tight ends coach. “It’s getting better at everything and getting a better grasp of the offense and football in general, understanding more than just a play. It’s understanding what is going on around him, and being able to adapt and adjust better. He needs to get better in everything, and that’s what he’s doing.”
