UM-bound QB Peters finalist for national award

Michigan commit Brandon Peters, a 6-5, 210-pound quarterback, is one of six finalists for the Maxwell Club's National High School Player of the Year.
Peters led Avon (Ind.) High to its first regional championship in a decade. He passed for 3,103 yards and 37 touchdowns against five interceptions. Peters maintained a 3.5 grade-point average and was also a standout varsity basketball player.
The winner of the award will be announced on Jan. 18.
Peters will enroll at Michigan in January.
