Top Big Ten Heisman Trophy candidates for 2016?

ESPN's Josh Moyer puts Michigan safety Jabrill Peppers on his list of top six early candidates.

Peppers had 45 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 10 pass breakups (second on the team) this season. He also had 18 rushes for 72 yards and two TD, 17 punt returns for 194 yards and eight kickoff returns for 223 yards.

"Stanford's Christian McCaffrey showed that versatility counts for something, so voters should be on the lookout for Peppers next season," Moyer says. "He tackled, passed, ran, caught, defended and returned this season. ... Back in high school Peppers was often compared to Michigan great Charles Woodson, the only defensive player to ever win the Heisman, so it seems only appropriate that the versatile Peppers makes this list."

No. 1 on Moyer's list is Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett, No. 2 is Indiana RB Jordan Howard, No. 3 is Wisconsin RB Corey Clement, No. 4 is Penn State RB Saquon Barkley and No. 6 is Iowa QB C.J. Beathard.
