UM leads in football attendance, Eastern last

Eastern Michigan's Rynearson Stadium is only six miles east of Michigan Stadium, but when it comes to football attendance it might as well be a million miles south.

Michigan averaged 110,168 in attendance in 2015.

UM leads the nation in average attendance with 110,168, which is up 5 percent compared to last year. With only an average 4,867 people watching, Eastern ranks dead last in the Football Subdivision.

Michigan State, which averaged 74,661, saw attendance fall less than 1 percent. Average crowds in the Big Ten dropped to 65,995 from 66,939 or about 1 percent.

Western Michigan crowds surged up 24 percent to 19,441 this season while Central Michigan saw 4 percent fall to 15,672.
