Michigan defensive lineman Mario Ojemudia, who suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the Big Ten opener at Maryland, will not get another season with the Wolverines.

The senior announced via social media Monday night that his college career is over. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh had said attempts were being made to obtain a medical redshirt for Ojemudia. That apparently did not happen.

"It's always a great day to be a Michigan Wolverine, but unfortunately for me those days have officially come to an end," Ojemudia wrote. "Though things didn't work out how I wanted them I know God has a plan, and the first step of that plan is getting healthy to play at the next level. #GoBlue"

Harbaugh said after the Maryland game he believes Ojemudia has a future at the next level.
