Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is losing another member of his staff.
T.J. Weist, the Wolverines’ senior offensive analyst, is leaving for a position on the University of South Florida staff, according to a sourced report on Wednesday by Fox Sports reporter Bruce Feldman.
Weist will rejoin USF coach Willie Taggart with whom he previously worked at Western Kentucky. In Weist’s first season at WKU, the Hilltoppers won the Division 1-AA national championship under head coach Jack Harbaugh.
Before returning to Michigan — he was a volunteer graduate assistant from 1990-1993 — Weist was interim head coach at UConn in 2013.
Weist, a native of Bay City, played football at Alabama.
Jim Harbaugh has had to replace two staffers already. D.J. Durkin, Michigan’s defensive coordinator last season, is now Maryland’s head coach, and special teams coordinator John Baxter left for USC.
