No. 5 seed Michigan (36-20) plays Friday against the loser of Friday's game between Iowa and Ohio State (Big Ten Network).

Big things could be in store this season for the Michigan baseball team.

Michigan, coming off a season in which it won the Big Ten tournament and an appearance in the Louisville Regional of the NCAA Tournament, is ranked No. 15 in Baseball America’s preseason Top 25, which was released Monday.

The Wolverines finished 39-25 last season, reaching the Lousville Regional title game, losing 13-4 to the host Cardinals. Louisville is No. 2 in Baseball America’s preseason poll, behind top-ranked Florida.

Michigan is the only Big Ten team in the poll.

Michigan opens its season Feb. 19 with a four-game series against Canisius in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
