De La Salle's Wilson accepts walk-on spot at Michigan

Tru Wilson, a defensive back and running back from Warren De La Salle, has accepted an offer to be a preferred walk-on on Michigan's football team.

Wilson (5-10, 185) had 40 tackles for De La Salle this season, and 644 rushing yards and 10 TD filling in for the injured Allen Stritzinger. He also had two receiving TD.

Stritzinger is in the 2017 class and is also being recruited by Michigan.

Wilson was named to The Detroit News All-Metro East first team as a defensive back, and made honorable mention on The News' Division 1-2 All-State team.

Wilson is ranked a three-star prospect and the No. 5 safety in Michigan by Scout.com. He had scholarship offers from all three service academies.
