On Thursday, Michigan survived to play another day in the Big Ten tournament.

On Friday, the Wolverines could make a very strong statement in their bid to make the NCAA Tournament.

Michigan escaped its Big Ten opener, 72-70 against Northwestern, when Zak Irvin buried a clutch 15-footer with three seconds left in overtime. Now the Wolverines take on No. 1 seed Indiana at noon Friday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

A win against the Hoosiers could convince the NCAA Tournament selection committee that Michigan has earned a right to play in the Big Dance. Needless to say, Friday is a big day for Michigan.
