Katelynn Flaherty scored 29 and Hallie Thome 27 as Michigan defeated visiting Virginia Tech, 80-62, to reach the semifinals of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

The Wolverines (26-9) took control with a 43-25 edge over the second and third quarters, turning a 20-19 deficit into a 62-45 lead.

Jillian Dunston contributed eight points and eight rebounds for Michigan.

Vanessa Panousis had 17 points and Chanette Hicks 14 for Virginia Tech (20-14).

Michigan will face the winner of Sunday’s game between Indiana and Villanova in the semifinals on Wednesday or Thursday.
