Michigan remains in the hunt to land one of Texas’ top 2019 basketball prospects.
Jalen Wilson, a four-star forward, announced his six finalists on Twitter Monday, listing the Wolverines along with Baylor, Marquette, Kansas, Oklahoma State and UCLA.
Wilson (6-foot-6, 185 pounds) is rated the No. 8 small forward in the nation and No. 28 overall prospect by the 247Sports Composite rankings. He averaged 16.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists for Guyer High this past season.
While Wilson doesn’t have an offer from Michigan yet, he has been heavily pursued by the Wolverines and is reportedly scheduled to make an unofficial visit this week.
“I talk to assistant coach (Luke) Yaklich and head coach John Beilein all the time,” Wilson told Zagsblog.com last month. “I was named after Jalen Rose … so I know all about Michigan basketball, and my mom loves Michigan. They produce great players in the NBA, and they’re a great program in the Big Ten.
“I love the coaches there. They really get to me and tell me where I’m at, how I will fit into the program, and how much they really want me. I really enjoy talking to them.”
