Ann Arbor — Kickoff for Michigan's homecoming game against Maryland has been suspended Saturday due to weather.

Lighting surrounding Michigan Stadium at 11 a.m., when officials announced the kickoff time would be pushed back. The game was originally slated to kickoff at noon.

As of 11:50 a.m., no new time has been announced, but broadcast reports say officials are aiming for a delayed kickoff at 1:15 p.m.

"The start of today's game has been suspended. Game time will be announced once determined," the university posted on Twitter at 11 a.m. "Michigan Stadium gates remain closed. They would open 1 hour prior to game time."

Mainline showers and storms have passed, said Alex Manion, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in White Lake Township.

"Overall, there's still a chance to see isolated showers to come after this initial storm but lighting has stopped," said Manion. "There's virtually no high winds that we're seeing on the radar."
