Michigan sophomore running back Kurt Taylor has decided to transfer, a UM spokesman David Ablauf confirmed to The Detroit News on Tuesday night.

“Kurt decided to leave the team and pursue a transfer,” Ablauf said.

Taylor, from Grayson High in Loganville, Ga., was a three-star recruit in the 2017 class. He did not play for Michigan last season or this season.

Michigan’s leading rusher this season is Karan Higdon, who has 963 yards – including seven straight games of 100-plus yards – and seven touchdowns.

Michigan (8-1, 6-0 Big Ten) returns to action this Saturday at Rutgers at 3:30 p.m.
