Brian Cole, who arrived at Michigan as a receiver from Saginaw Heritage, is no longer on the team, according to a report Thursday from Wolverine247. Cole reportedly received his release and is considering attending Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Arizona or Arizona State.
After limited playing time during the season, Cole moved to safety during bowl practices.
Linebacker Royce Jenkins-Stone praised Cole last month.
"He's been coming down and bringing a lot of havoc," Jenkins-Stone said. "He's been good."
Cole was a four-star prospect coming out of Saginaw Heritage in the 2015 class. An early enrollee at Michigan, he was the No. 17 player on The Detroit News Blue Chip list.
Cole had one reception last season, in the season opener against Utah.
