Shortly after Massachusetts running back AJ Dillon committed to Michigan on Monday morning, Alabama safety J’Marick Woods added his name to the list of future Wolverines.
Woods, a 6-4, 196-pound four-star prospect from Florence (Ala.) High, became the eighth member of Michigan’s 2017 recruiting class.
Woods, ranked the No. 2 safety in Alabama and No. 22 at his position nationally by Scout.com, made a return visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend.
“(The visit) was great,” Woods told The Michigan Insider. “It was a lot of one-on-one time with all of the coaches. I talked to basically the whole staff. They just wanted me to feel comfortable. I enjoyed it.”
Woods announced his decision on Twitter.
“I’ve enjoyed the process but it is time for this journey to come to an end,” he wrote. “I will be continuing my football and educational career at the University of Michigan. … Go Blue!”
Woods also indicated that he would be an early-enrollee in the 2017 class.
Woods is rated a four-star on Scout.com and a three-star on the 247Sports.com composite rankings.
