Michigan advances to WNIT semifinals

Freshman center Hallie Thome scored the game-winning basket with eight seconds left as Michigan edged Temple, 77-76, Monday in the WNIT quarterfinals at Crisler Center.

Katelynn Flaherty scored 23 and Madison Ristovski added 19 as UM (21-13) advances to a semifinal matchup with Florida Gulf Coast (32-5) on Thursday at 8 p.m. at 8 p.m. at Fort Myers, Fla.

Thome and Siera Thompson added 13 and 11, respectively, for the Wolverines, who scored just nine points in the first quarter, trailed by 10 at halftime and tied the game at the end of three.

Donnaizha Fountain scored 25 for Temple (23-12).
