ESPN to carry UM's Sept. 3 season opener vs. Hawaii

Michigan's season opener against Hawaii on Sept. 3 at Michigan Stadium will be carried by ESPN at noon, the network and school announced Tuesday.

Michigan will host Hawaii for the first time at Michigan Stadium on Sept. 3. The game will be carried on ESPN.

This will be Hawaii's first appearance at Michigan Stadium. The two schools played previously on two occasions at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Wolverines defeated the Rainbow Warriors by a 27-10 score during the 1986 season and 48-17 during the 1998 season.

The only other Michigan games that have been set are: Oct. 8 at Rutgers at either 7 p.m. or 8 p.m., Oct. 22 against Illinois in Michigan's Homecoming game at 3:30 p.m., and Nov. 12 at Iowa will be a night game, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
