Jim Harbaugh’s jersey selection at the various stops on his June satellite camp tour was a nod to a local sports hero.

Andrew Doughty of Sports Illustrated’s Campus Rush thought it would be worthwhile to rank Harbaugh’s selections.

In his “definitive ranking of Jim Harbaugh’s satellite camp jerseys,” Doughty ranks 24 selections based on “relevance, creativity, quality and overall appeal.”

Not surprisingly, Hank Aaron tops the list. Harbaugh donned Aaron’s No. 44 at Maynard Jackson High in Atlanta on June 2.

“Hank Aaron's Braves jersey wasn't the first jersey Harbaugh wore on his satellite camp tour but it's the first one that the college football world took notice of, and it's one that launched an obsession with his summer of jerseys,” Doughty says.

Other notable jerseys in Doughty’s rankings: Former Michigan receiver Mario Manningham at No. 7 (Warren, Ohio, camp); ex-Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson at No. 14 (Jacksonville, Fla.); and Kalamazoo native Derek Jeter at No. 16 (Paramus, N.J.).
