Because of time constraints, Michigan will not have a Football Youth Day presented this fall.
Officials say the program will move to the spring, Michigan announced Friday. This change is expected to be permanent for future years.
"We don't make this decision lightly as it impacts a wide range of people including our youngest and most enthusiastic fans," said Kurt Svoboda, UM associate athletic director in a release.
"In considering our program's fall practice schedule, it became evident that a spring date offered far more flexibility than an August timeframe as our team prepares for the season. We've appreciated the input from around our community and will look forward both to the season as well as a reimagined opportunity for area youth to interact with our student-athletes."
