It’s OL Magnuson’s ‘time to shine’ as Michigan QB

Ann Arbor – Offensive lineman Erik Magnuson took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal he’s Michigan’s starting quarterback.
Magnuson included a photo of him posing like a quarterback, and went Bull Durham on his quote.
“I’m excited to announce that I will be playing quarterback for the 2016 season,” he wrote. “It’s my time to shine. I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life.”
After practice, he explained how he’s juggling his work on the offensive line and at quarterback.
“It’s hard because I’ve got to take first-string offensive line reps and first-string quarterback reps, but it puts me at an advantage because I know the blocking schemes so well, I know where the pressure is coming from and if I’ve got anybody hot coming off the edge,” Magnuson said with a straight face. “I think I put an advantage in my arm strength and accuracy.”
He said with a running start he can throw about 65 yards and flat-footed about 50.
“Depends on the wind, humidity, air, elevation,” Magnuson said.
