Piscataway, N.J. – Michigan is about to embark on its first road game of the season, and will the fourth-ranked Wolverines go with a new kicker?

The Wolverines face Rutgers in High Point Solutions Stadium Saturday night.

Freshman Quinn Nordin, who had an injury earlier this season, practiced last week and participated in a kicking competition after the Wolverines missed all three attempts last week against Wisconsin. Kenny Allen, who has been handling all the kicking duties, was 0-for-2, and Ryan Tice was 0-for-1.

Nordin showed off a big leg during pre-game warmups.

Also something to keep an eye on: Freshman Ben Bredeson was practicing at left guard, although starter Ben Braden is here.

This is the Wolverines’ first trip to Rutgers since their 26-24 loss to the Scarlet Knights in 2014. The Rutgers fans stormed the field and tore down a goal post, a memory that remains vivid for the Wolverines.
