UM, MSU among final five for Donovan Peoples-Jones

Detroit News
King's Ambry Thomas gets a pass interference penalty against Cass Tech's Donovan Peoples-Jones on Friday night, leading to a Cass Tech touchdown.

Five-star receiver / defensive back Donovan Peoples-Jones of Detroit Cass Tech wrote on Twitter on Sunday that he would be "moving forward" in his recruitment with five schools: Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida and Florida State.

Peoples-Jones, ranked the No. 1 player in the state by The Detroit News, has kept things close to the vest in his recruitment, but most analysts consider Michigan and Ohio State the leaders.

"I want to thank God for blessing me  with all of my abilities and opportunities," Peoples-Jones wrote. "I would also like to thank each coach who has taken their time to recruit me along this process. I value the connections and relationships that I've encountered throughout this time. It has also been fun visiting so many new places. After praying on it, I will be moving forward with these select group of universities."

Included with Peoples-Jones’ tweet was an illustration that featured Peoples-Jones in a football uniform with a Michigan helmet, Ohio State / Florida State jersey and Michigan State / Florida pants. Included in the illustration were logos of Peoples-Jones' five finalists.

Cass Tech is undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the state by The Detroit News. Cass Tech faces Dearborn in a Division 1 district final playoff game this week.
