Eight Michigan football early enrollees are in the university directory and expected on campus today as classes begin for the winter term.

Several other early enrollees are still playing in the U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio this week and are expected on campus next week, although receiver Tarik Black also is in the UM directory but is still in Texas for the all-star game.

And the college football recruiting world awaits the decision by No. 1 running back Najee Harris, who also is at the Army All-American game and has said he won’t make an official announcement but will show up on the campus of his choice, either Michigan or Alabama, where he is committed.

Apparently Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh kicked things off for the early enrollees with dinner at his home Tuesday night. JaRaymond Hall, an offensive lineman in this class, shared a photo on social media of the group having dinner with Harbaugh.

Those expected to start classes today: Jaylen Kelly-Powell, Cesar Ruiz, J’Marick Woods, Benjamin St-Juste, Corey Malone-Hatcher, Ben Mason, Donovan Jeter, and Hall.

Jaylen Kelly-Powell was a shutdown corner at Cass Tech.
