Bowling event involving Michigan and South Carolina players gets heated with authorities called in to separate those quarreling.

Tampa, Fla. — Things got heated between the Michigan and South Carolina players after a bowling event Wednesday night that is part of the Outback Bowl team activities this week.

Michigan players said a South Carolina player initiated the trash talking with UM running back Karan Higdon and then it went from there at Splitsville Luxury Lanes shortly after South Carolina won the bowling team event.

Members from both teams were gathered in the middle of the bowling facility when the trash talking began.

One Michigan player said after the incident that included some pushing and shoving but mostly they jawed each other: "Things are going to get real Monday," referring to the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day.
