Former Michigan quarterback Alex Malzone, who decided to transfer from Michigan after his graduation in April, announced Monday he will attend Miami (Ohio) University where he will continue his football career. The former Birmingham Brother Rice standout will have two years of eligibility remaining.

In his Instagram post, Malzone said he will spend "the next 2 years pursuing a master's degree. Beyond pumped to join Coach Martin and his team. Go Redhawks."

Malzone joined Wilton Speight, a two-year starting quarterback at Michigan before his 2017 season was cut short the fourth game of the season when he suffered three fractured vertebrae, in opting to become graduate transfer. A source close to Speight told The Detroit News on Sunday that he is not rushing his decision and plans to enroll somewhere in June.
