It appears there's a chance Michigan could play the same nonconference opponent twice this season.

According to a report by CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein on Thursday, the Wolverines will host South Carolina on Dec. 8 in the second leg of the home-and-home series.

Michigan has already announced it will take part in the eight-team Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun, where it will face either South Carolina or Providence in the final round on Nov. 18.

Michigan and South Carolina agreed to a home-and-home deal in 2016, with the Gamecocks winning in Columbia, 61-46, that year before making a run to the Final Four.

South Carolina wasn't able to build off that success this past season, missing the NCAA Tournament with a 17-16 record and tying for 11th place in the 14-team Southeastern Conference with a 7-11 mark.

In addition to the Hall of Fame Tip-Off, Michigan has also announced it will get a national title game rematch against Villanova in the Gavitt Games on Nov. 14.
