Ann Arbor — In the final moments of his postgame news conference, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh seemed to get a bit nostalgic.

After his team trounced Penn State, 42-7, at Michigan Stadium on Saturday before 111,747, Harbaugh took a moment to single out the fans.

“I want to say, our stadium, our fans, it had a different feel tonight,” Harbaugh said. “It felt like the old days. It felt like that to me. Just an energized group of fans, student section. It was like a Saturday at Michigan in Ann Arbor the way it’s supposed to be. The way I remembered it at the very highest level.

“That was an electric atmosphere in there. That’s great. Gives me chills. And I think our team responded to that, as well. Onward. We’ll move on with humble hearts and keep striving on and practicing with the same kind of focus and intensity and confidence.”
