Another upset puts Jenner, 17, in Michigan Amateur semis

Southfield -- Austin Jenner of West Branch sprang a big upset for the second straight day in the Michigan Amateur at Plum Hollow Country Club.

Jenner, 17, eliminated defending champion Henry Do of Canton 2-up on Thursday and earned a spot in Friday's semifinals. On Wednesday, Jenner defeated medalist Reed Hrynewich of Muskegon.

Jenner will face Ryan Johnson of New Boston, who beat Tom Werkmeister of Kentwood 3 and 1.

In the other semifinals, Bert Quitiquit will meet Kory Roberts. Quitiquit of Highland ousted Otto Black of Pinckney 2 and 1, and Roberts of Battle Creek beat Steve McKalko of Troy 1-up.

Friday's semifinal winners will then face off for the title.
