LPGA hopefuls play Michigan Symetra Tour event this week

Tullymore Golf Resort in Stanwood, Michigan, is the site of this week's Symetra Tour event.
The Tullymore Classic is a 54-hole tournament Friday through Sunday on the mid-Michigan course. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the gate.
The Symetra Tour is the official development tour of the LPGA.
There are two courses at the resort, and the tournament will be contested on the par-72 Tullymore course. The purse for the Tullymore Classic is $100,000, with $15,000 going to the winner.
Among the players in the field of 144 is Laura Kueny of Whitehall, Michigan, a former Michigan State golfer, and reigning Michigan Amateur champion Jennifer Elsholz of Grand Rapids.
"It's the best of competitive golfers from all over the world and we all have this chance to realize our dreams of playing on the LPGA Tour," Kueny said. "It's intense, exciting and just great golf."
The top 10 money winners on the Symetra Tour at the end of the season earn LPGA Tour membership for 2016.
Meg Mallon, who went to high school at Farmington Hills Mercy, is the tournament host. She is an 18-time LPGA Tour winner.
