Ernie Els

Any you thought Ernie Els was just a gentle giant.

Turns out, “The Big Easy” was the No. 1 choice by PGA Tour players who might find themselves in this predicament:

If you were to be in a bar fight, who would you want to have your back?

Els was named by 15 percent of the PGA Tour players surveyed by GOLF.com, outdistancing Keegan Bradley (9 percent) and Angel Cabrera (7 percent).

"I've heard some bar stories about Ernie," one PGA Tour player said.

GOLF.com surveyed more than 150 players from the three major tours, and their responses to some of the questions were very interesting.

For example:

PGA Tour players were asked: Have you gone on a date with a woman you met at a tournament? Seventy-one percent said no, 29 percent said yes. On the Champions Tour, however, it was 57 percent no and 43 percent yes.

Adam Scott has the prettiest swing on the PGA Tour (31 percent), and 49 percent said Phil Mickelson would make a better Ryder Cup captain than Tiger Woods (44 percent).

Among LPGA Tour players, 56 percent said wearing face paint at the Solheim Cup is cute while 44 percent said it was lame.
