Check out featured pairings for first round of Ally Challenge at Warwick Hills

There are a few showcase groupings for Friday's first round of the inaugural Ally Challenge at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club in Grand Blanc.

Among them: 

►Vijay Singh (three), Kenny Perry (two) and Tom Pernice (one), who won a combined six Buick Open championships when Warwick Hills hosted the PGA Tour stop, will tee off at 1:10, on the first hole.

►Fan favorite Fred Couples, who won the Buick Open in 1994, will lay with David Toms and Jay Haas, and tee off at 1:20, on the first hole.

►Colin Montgomerie, who never played in a Buick Open, will play alongside Lee Janzen and Jeff Maggert, with a 12:40 tee time, on the first hole.

►John Daly headlines his group, with Joe Durant and Carlos Franco, at 12:20, teeing off on the first hole.

►The two local entrants, Lake Orion's Tom Gillis (1:25, 10th hole) and Grandville's Tom Werkmeister (1:30, first hole), will be among the later tee times for Round 1.

The Ally Challenge runs Friday through Sunday, with no cut, typical of Champions Tour non-majors. The purse is $2 million, with the winner getting $300,000. Tickets remain available, and Golf Channel will broadcast all three rounds, from 3-6 p.m. each day.
