Saginaw Arthur Hill combo guard Eric Davis announced Tuesday he will be playing college basketball next year at the University of Texas.

Davis, a 6-foot-3 senior, picked the Longhorns over Michigan, Michigan State, LSU, North Carolina State and more than a dozen other schools.

Davis, a four-star recruit, is ranked No. 32 nationally in The Sporting News’ college basketball publication, which recently reached newsstands. He is the No. 2-ranked player in the state behind Muskegon forward Deyonta Davis (No. 25), who committed to Michigan State.

Davis averaged 27 points and five rebounds last season to help Arthur Hill win the Saginaw Valley League championship.
