Warren De La Salle crushes Detroit Catholic Central
The Warren De La Salle football team has seen its share of tough luck this season, but that still might not keep the Pilots out of the playoffs.
Allen Stritzinger scored three touchdowns as Warren De La Salle inched closer to a playoff berth with a 31-8 victory Sunday over Detroit Catholic Central.
At 5-3 (2-2 Detroit Catholic League Central Division), Warren De La Salle can secure a spot in the postseason with a victory in next week's DCL crossover against an opponent still to be determined. Warren De La Salle's three losses this season (to Birmingham Brother Rice, Orchard Lake St. Mary's and Dearborn Fordson, consecutively) have come against opponents with a combined record of 23-1, by an average of five points per game.
Against Catholic Central (3-5, 2-2), Stritzinger rolled up 149 yards on 18 carries, while Eric Rogers led the defensive effort with 12 tackles and an interception.
