Saturday's roundup: W.L. Western defeats rival Central

Walled Lake Western remained undefeated with a 54-46 win over crosstown-rival Walled Lake Central on Saturday afternoon.

Western was paced by senior guard Daryl Porter's 18 points. Marcus Bailey and Jerald Booker each scored 13 points in the victory.

Western is 9-0 and Central falls to 5-3.

Detroit Henry Ford 54, Flint Beecher 51: James Towns scored 20 and Jamal Edwards 12 for Henry Ford (10-1). Cedric Moten scored 14 for Beecher (8-1).

Detroit Osborn 52, Marysville 47: Joseph Thomas scored 15 and DeAndre May added 14 for Osborn (5-5). Marysville falls to 4-2.

Other boys games

Detroit CMA 54, Warren DeLaSalle 47: Maria Thurmond had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and DeMonte Jones scored 15 for CMA (8-2). Kevin McKay scored 14 for DeLaSalle (6-3).

Detroit East English Village Prep 102, River Rouge 76: Kamari Newman had 36 points and 14 rebounds and Lamont Stone 31 for East English Prep (8-2).

Melvindale ABT 46, Taylor Trillium 36: Lavelle Russell had 13 points and Elijah Smith 10 points and 20 rebounds for Melvindale ABT (6-4).

Walled Lake Western 54, Walled Lake Central 46: Daryl Porter had 18 points and Marcus Bailey and Jerald Booker each had 13 for Western (9-0).

Girls basketball

Dearborn Heights Robichaud 77, Ann Arbor Pioneer 43: Kamaria McDaniel scored 29 and Kayla Brown added 20 and Cha'Von Tiggs 16 for Robichaud (9-1). Sydney Henrich scored 15 and Laura Strand had 10 for Pioneer.

Walled Lake Central 48, Walled Lake Western 46: Maddie Oshinsky had 17 points and Kaitlyn 13 for Central (1-7). Jamara Flowers had 21 points and Jorden Walczyk added 12 for Western (0-8).
