Tuesday's roundup: Southfield Christian cruises

Southfield Christian continued its run at a fourth-straight Michigan Independent Athletic Conference title after defeating visiting Novi Franklin Road Christian 87-49 in a MIAC Blue Division boys basketball game Tuesday.

After taking a 40-24 halftime lead, the Eagles went on a 23-0 run to start the second half.

Four players reached double figures for Southfield Christian. Eugene "Marlo" Brown led with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Brock Washington scored 15, Bryce Washington 13, and Kameron Garner 12.

Southfield Christian (10-2, 9-0) has won nine straight, scoring at least 85 points in its past four games.

Austin Hearns had 15 and Gavin Harris 10 for Franklin Road (5-8, 3-5).

Allen Park Inter-City Baptist 68, Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 50: Luke Barber had 20, Troy Kazlauskas 15 and Garrett Kraatz 13 for Inter-City (10-2, 7-1 MIAC Blue). Jaren English had 19, Spencer Ewing 12, and Anthony George 11 for Liggett (8-4, 5-3).

Birmingham Seaholm 49, Birmingham Groves 48: Austin Roth had 21 points for Seaholm (8-4). Davion Curry had 15 for Groves (4-7).

Detroit Catholic Central 58, Birmingham Brother Rice 56: Champ Kozlowski had 16, Ike Marchie 13 and CJ Baird 10 for Catholic Central (5-7, 2-4 Catholic Central). Kevin Hayes scored 19 and Dominic Downs 17 for Brother Rice (9-4, 3-3).

Farmington 46, Ferndale 31: Jordan Graham led Farmington (7-6, 3-0 OAA Gold) with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Connor Greenlee scored 14 and Justin Banks had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Hughey had eight points for Ferndale (2-10, 1-2).

Gibraltar Carlson 51, Southgate Anderson 43: Jarrett Atkinson had 21 for Carlson (10-3, 5-3 Downriver). Dejon Matthews scored 16 for Anderson (7-5, 6-3).

Novi 61, South Lyon 53: Nick Ankerson had 21 points and Naji Ozeir had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Novi (11-2, 7-0 KLAA Central). Anton Skupin had 13 points for South Lyon (2-11, 1-6).

Riverview Gabriel Richard 49, Clarkston Everest Collegiate 19: Anthony Brown and Nick Gee each had 11 for Gabriel Richard (11-3, 6-0 Catholic League Intersectional). Everest Collegiate is 3-11, 1-5.

Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 57, Royal Oak Shrine 32: Nick Robak had 21 and Chris Cartier 15 for Lakes (13-0). Asher Smith had nine points for Shrine.

Birmingham Roeper 44, Plymouth Christian 23: Sophia Savas had 13 and Akiwa Tilton 11 for Roeper (12-2, 6-2 MIAC Blue). Plymouth Christian is 4-10, 2-7.

Farmington Hills Harrison 52, Troy 47: Kristen Nelson had 23 and Katie Conrad 13 for Harrison (10-4). Rachel Grecky scored 19 and Olivia Braun 12 for Troy (9-5).

Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 53, Allen Park Inter-City Baptist 29: Jessica Rotzoll scored 14 and Lola Ristovski 10 for Liggett (11-3, 9-0 MIAC Blue). Karalynn Goering had nine for Inter-City.

Hartland 48, Pinckney 28: Graysen Cockerham had 13 points and Lexey Tobel 11 for Hartland (10-3, 6-1 KLAA West). Shannon Dingman had eight points for Pinckney (3-10, 0-7).

Ionia 56, Stanton Central Montcalm 16: Anna Riccius had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Jaylynn Williams scored 16 and Camryn Klein 11 for Ionia (7-7).
