Despite missing its leading scorer, Roseville didn't miss a beat in a 50-40 girls basketball victory over host Mount Clemens on Thursday night.

Sophomore Chantae Parker and four-year starter Brianna Hodge took charge, scoring 14 points apiece as Nija Collier was held out by coach Andy Houghton.

"Everybody had to step it up tonight," Houghton said.

Parker scored all of her 14 in the second quarter for Roseville (9-7, 4-5 MAC Gold), and then just dished out the ball for the rest of the game.

Hodge got eight of her 14 in the third quarter, allowing Roseville to keep the lead.

"Our focus was to get (Brianna) the ball down early and we did, but she got in foul trouble," said Houghton. "She really came on in the third quarter."

Rosalyn Williams scored 15 to lead Mount Clemens.
