Saturday's roundup: Mercy overpowers Notre Dame

Farmington Hills Mercy routed Pontiac Notre Dame 74-50 in a Catholic League quarterfinal game on Saturday afternoon.

Taylor Jones led all scorers with 30 points.

Mercy dominated the entire game and had a 21-point lead at halftime.

"We played well offensively" Mercy coach Gary Morris said. "It was a good win."

Zora Tullen scored 12 and Sierra Wangler added 10 in the win.

Mercy is 14-3.

Detroit Country Day 72, Flint Hamady 36: Destiny Pitts had 16 points, Kaela Webb 13 and Arika Tolbert added 11 for Country Day (13-2). Jalisha Terry scored 13 points for Hamady.

Boys basketball

Allen Park Inter-City Baptist 46, Taylor Truman 42: Brady Fressel and Luke Barber had 12 points apiece and Garrett Kraatz added 11 for Inter-City Baptist (13-3). Airren Watkins had 11 points for Truman (6-8).

Boys hockey

Warren Mott 6, Madison Heights Bishop Foley 3: Joey Erickson scored two goals to lead Mott. Leo Ortel, Dominic Finazzo, Alberto Nava scored for Foley (2-1-18).

West Bloomfield Cranbrook-Kingswood 6, Rochester United 2: Alec Regula scored two goals and CJ Regula had a goal and an assist for Cranbrook (16-1-4)
